Gmail and Google Workspace
Use your designs in Gmail by hand, or send them from your app through Google Workspace.
Save it as a Gmail template
For emails your team sends one by one: welcome calls, invoices, follow-ups. Open the email in the editor and choose Export → Gmail.
- 1Pick Placeholders (like [user name], to fill in before each send) or Sample values, then Copy for Gmail.
- 2In Gmail, turn on templates once: Settings → See all settings → Advanced → Templates.
- 3Open Compose, paste, and copy the subject from the export.
- 4Open ⋮ → Templates → Save draft as template. Next time, insert it from the same menu.
Gmail keeps the layout, colors and images, but drops phone-specific styles, so on phones the email is scaled down instead of stacking. Links that use placeholders, like a reset link, need a real address before you send.
Sending from your app through Google Workspace
The Gmail tab also has Node.js code that sends the email with Nodemailer through Gmail's SMTP server, with the HTML and plain text built in. Create an app password in your Google account and set it as GMAIL_APP_PASSWORD, with your address as GMAIL_USER.
- Google Workspace allows about 2,000 emails a day per user (500 during a trial), free Gmail about 500.
- Your Workspace admin can set up the SMTP relay (
smtp-relay.gmail.com) for more. - For sign-up, password and receipt emails at scale, Resend, Postmark, SendGrid or Brevo deliver more reliably and give you sending statistics.
